We’re so excited that Ben, a devoted dad and psychotherapist, is taking on the London Marathon 2025 — not just for himself, but for families across Southwark and Lewisham who need support.

Ben knows firsthand how overwhelming parenthood can be. When his twin daughters, Ada and Flo, were born, he found himself struggling —outnumbered, exhausted, and unsure how to manage on his own. That’s when he turned to Home-Start Southwark.

"I recognised I was struggling. How do I get them to listen to me? How do I become more confident? I didn’t know how to entertain them or how to develop them – it felt quite overwhelming," Ben recalls.

The support he received from our wonderful volunteer Kristen made a world of difference, helping him grow into the father he wanted to be. Now, he’s lacing up his running shoes to give back again — to make sure other parents get the same lifeline he did.

Ben is running the London Marathon to raise vital funds for Home-Start Southwark, so we can continue supporting families when they need it most. And he can’t do it alone.
