Meet The Team
Becca
CEO
I joined the team in June 2015. After spending twelve years working in children’s and infrastructure charities in London and Surrey, my next “job”, having a baby, was my most challenging, and gave me the insight and empathy to develop our perinatal project, supporting pregnant women and families with young babies. As well as co-ordinating volunteers supporting perinatal families at home, I deliver our Mellow Babies parenting programme. I love ice cream, parks, and hot lazy holidays, and my favourite part of her job is seeing new mums gain in confidence as their relationships develop with their babies.
Klaudia
Operations Manager
I joined Home-Start Southwark in September 2021. As I come from a big family myself, I always wanted to work with and support children and their families. My responsibilities varies from communication, website and social media management, financial and HR management and day to day admin support.
My favourite thing about working with Home-Start is supporting local community. Outside of work, I enjoy crocheting and riding my motorbike, and I love elephants!
Ola
Family Support Coordinator
I joined Home-Start Southwark initially as a volunteer and in October 2021 I took on the role of a Family Support Coordinator. My passion for working with children, previous work experience as a teaching assistant for 6 years, and volunteering experience with HSS brings different perspective to work of Family Support team. My favourite thing about working with HSS is seeing everyone come together and support each other. Outside of work I enjoy reading and baking.

Rosy
Family Support Practitioner
I am originally from Ecuador, it is a small country with rich diversity in its natural resources. I have 2 daughters and one lovely grandson. The challenges I have been facing since coming to London included the economic, social, language, and weather barriers. It was a hard path to build on and overcome, experiencing how being mother and head of the family in a new country helped me to understand how hard it is to raise a family.
After obtaining qualifications in the UK - a Standard Degree in Early Years Education, I started my career in the early years' services and a nursery, and it has been 11 years working with children and families with all my passion, knowledge, and experience.
Thinking how to progress in my career, I found out about Home-Start through my daughter, she was looking to enrich her career with work experience, and she was the one who knew instantly it would be a perfect match for me. Home-Start recruits and trains volunteers to help families with young children who are struggling to cope. My experience meant I was perfectly placed to support Home-Start’s mission.
Firstly, as a Home-Start volunteer, I have confirmed how a little bit of help impacted family lives and how grateful the families are. As a Spanish speaker, the opportunity to help is especially appreciated because I can offer support to families from other countries. I am currently working in Home-Start Southwark; I can assist families to communicate and offer emotional and practical support in my role as Family Support Practitioner. Following a dream, I am joining in their dedication to helping children through their families. ‘Family is the core of the society’, they are our source to work, working together, cooperating day by day building a Better World.
Yvette
Team Manager - Family Services
I joined Home-Start in July 2024 and am excited to serve as the Team Manager. As a lifelong resident of South East London and a parent of two boys, I bring a deep personal commitment to supporting local families. After initially working in the NHS, I discovered my true passion for family support nine years ago. Since then, I've held various roles within children's centres and primary education, gaining extensive experience and insight into the needs of children and families. I look forward to contributing to the great work that Home-Start already does with families in Southwark and Lewisham. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, music, concerts, and spending time with my family.
Helen
Volunteer Coordinator
I joined the Home-Start Southwark team in 2019 as a volunteer. I really enjoyed working alongside local families and seeing the difference that some extra help can make. I was delighted to join the team in 2021 as I am passionate about supporting families and children during the formative years of early childhood. As a primary school teacher for 20 years, I have been able to bring the experience of working with children to the role; but I am enjoying the opportunity of working more holistically with families. When I am not working, I am busy with my three teenage children and enjoy long walks with my dog.
Luciana
Family Support Coordinator
I joined Home-Start Southwark as a Family Support Coordinator in September 2021, after graduating with Masters Degree in Social Justice and Education from University College London. My favourite thing about working with HSS is the process of meeting people where they are at and let them be the ones to tell our team how we can help instead of the other way around. Outside of work I enjoy ice cream, long walks with my husband and two dogs, and reading.
Tianne
Family Support Coordinator
I’m from South London (born & raised) and have taken on the role as Family Support Co-ordinator, as I’m passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and their families. I have a background in early years education, spending many years working in schools and educational settings. I also have experience in family support and delivering child centered interventions to families in need. I have 3 children of my own, which has been the biggest learning curve of my life and has given me 1st hand experience of what parenthood is all about. Being a parent has given me a sense of empathy and understanding, which I bring to my role. I love being part of the Home Start Southwark team; working alongside families and seeing the impact that the right support can make to their lives. When not at work I enjoy reading, writing poetry, gym sessions and dining out.
Debbie
Family Support Coordinator
I originally joined Home-Start in 2020 as a volunteer and unfortunately my journey was put on hold due to the pandemic. I was finally able to volunteer again in 2023 and joined the team as a Family Support Coordinator in 2024.
I am passionate about supporting families and children and have previously worked in Nurseries, Schools and the NHS, with a focus on development in the Early Years. I am looking forward to being part of such an amazing team of staff and volunteers and using my knowledge and experience to support our wonderful Home-Start families.
When I am not at work, I am spending time with my children and enjoy walks with my dog (and the occasional run!) and exploring new places.
